Jan. 1 Kwanzaa Celebration - Imani

You are invited to celebrate the last day of Kwanzaa with Fenix on Thursday, Jan 1st, 2015 at the Fenix Studio at 1220 Del Paso Blvd
.
Celebration starts at 2:00 pm with cultural presentations, a craft market, and  activities for the kids.
Please feel free to bring friends and family and  a dish to share at the potluck feast.

Congolese Dance Workshop!!!

Willy Loketo is a world-renowned master artist from the Republic of Congo (Brazzaville) who was initiated into the Congolese music and dance tradition at the age of 9. A gifted dancer, choreographer, musician and performing artist, his formative years in traditional arts were spent as an apprentice and the youngest member of le Ballet National du Congo (Congolese National Dance Company).

In 1996, Willy Loketo established Africa Tambours, an innovative percussion and dance ensemble that led him to France, where he has resided since 2000.  Loketo teaches popular weekly classes, serves an artist-in-residence at a number of local schools and continues on as director of Africa Tambours, touring and performing traditional music and dance locally and abroad.
